Objectives

The objective of this course is to provide engineers with a clear awareness level understanding of well integrity fundamentals, focusing on concepts, terminology, and practical thinking rather than detailed calculations. 

By the end of this course, participants will understand what well integrity is, why it matters, and how their daily engineering decisions influence the integrity of a well throughout its life cycle. 

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: 

• Define well integrity and explain its critical role in protecting people, the environment, asset value, and corporate reputation. 

• Apply the two-barrier philosophy and differentiate between eruptive and non-eruptive well barrier requirements. 

• Identify common well barrier threats and mechanical failure modes, mapping them onto the PTTEP Risk Assessment Matrix (RAM). 

• Manage well operational deviations utilizing PTTEP’s 8-step Management of Change (MOC) process. 

• Analyze Sustained Casing Pressure (SCP), Annular Pressure Build-up (APB), and Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC). 

• Distinguish between well integrity verification (LOT/FIT, pressure tests) and continuous monitoring (MAP/MOP/TOW/BOW).
