After you say “hello” when you answer the telephone, remember that we don’t say “I am.” We have several other ways to introduce yourself, such as:

• “Hello. This is Neal.”
• “Hello. Neal speaking.” or “Hello, it’s Neal.” or “Hello, this is Neal.”
• “Hello. My name is Neal. Can I help you?”
