English Café: Unsatisfactory or Unsatisfied?
Advanced Details: Unsatisfactory or Unsatisfied?
Most (not all) of the time, we use “unsatisfactory” with things, and we use “unsatisfied” with people.
The term unsatisfied means something fails to satisfy someone whereas the term unsatisfactory means something is inadequate, substandard, or not satisfactory, which has little or nothing to do with how someone (or something) feels.
Note that there is no such term as “unsatisfaction.”
